What is Depression?


Around 22% of the United States Adults reported depressive symptoms in 2022. Depression presents in form of behavioral changes and physical symptoms.


People with depression may experience:


  • Increased or decreased sleep

  • Increased or decreased appetite

  • Weight gain or loss.

  • Feeling of hopelessness, guilt, lack of interest in activities irritability.

  • Lack of energy.

  • Lack of concentration.

  • Thoughts of suicide.

I believe that as a provider, the treatment of depression is a collaborative effort between the client and their providers. Since depression presents differently from person to person, individualized diagnosis and treatment are essential.
